2023 marked the 40th anniversary of LA Family Housing

Our legacy began back in 1983 when two different but like-minded organizations were formed: one which provided an immediate response to homelessness with shelter and services, and a second that built affordable homes for families transitioning out of homelessness. The two combined to form LA Family Housing as we know it today. Since then, we have been there for the people of Los Angeles, ending homelessness for tens of thousands and touching the lives of countless others.

Advocate

Write 40 postcards to your elected officials urging them to take action on homelessness in our communities! Click here to learn more about how you can use your voice to help end homelessness and how to get in touch with your elected representatives.

Educate

Spend 40 seconds by calling in to thank our bill sponsor Luz Rivas for championing AB 799, which seeks to reshape and strengthen California’s response to homelessness by pairing strong accountability measures that require collaborative regional planning across state homelessness funding streams, along with refinements to the Homeless Housing, Assistance, and Prevention (HHAP) program with ongoing funding to meet the crisis at hand. Critical to receive ongoing funding as none currently exists.  You can reach their Capitol office by calling (916) 319-2043.

volunteer

Bring 40 friends to one of our Seminar + Trainings and then serve 40 hours at one of our fun opportunities like Game Nights, Donation Organizing, or Shop and Swaps. Email volunteer@lafh.org to get started.
