Children's Library Renovation by Greenlight
The
children at L.A. Family Housing's Sydney M. Irmas Transitional Living Center
are the grateful benefactor of a newly renovated children's library. Introduced
to LAFH by the Rose Group, Greenlight Financial Services in Irvine donated
both the funds and the manpower with a team of 10 employees volunteering
their time and effort to make the renovation possible.
L.A.
Family Housing (LAFH) uses the room for numerous children's activities including
reading time, educational games, "Mommy & Me" classes, and various arts
and crafts. Now children will find the room much more fun and colorful with
freshly painted blue walls and a beautiful full-wall mural depicting dolphins
and other aquatic creatures reading story books and poetry Newly purchased
bookshelves line the walls, well stocked with a variety of books for all
ages. Curtains and artwork help to give the room a fresh new look. In the
corner are large stuffed pillows and a new area rug where children may curl
up with a good book.
An official ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Monday, April 23rd, 2007 and LAFH children even got to do the cutting! LAFH extends a sincere thank you to Greenlight Financial Services for their commitment to helping those less fortunate and offering the children and families at TLC a comfortable place to spend some quality time together.
