TLC Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
An
official "ribbon-cutting ceremony" took place in L.A. Family Housing's Sydney
M. Irmas Transitional Living Center's new library on Monday, April 23rd,
2007 and LAFH children even got to do the cutting! Greenlight Financial
Services, a mortgage lending company, donated both the funds and the manpower
to makeover the old library used as a space for a family reading program,
children's reading time, Mommy & Me classes, and various arts and crafts
activities.
Breakfast
refreshments were offered for the many LAFH children and staff and Greenlight
employees present. Children first gathered to hear a story, listening closely
while comfortably seating in the new chairs. They also participated in a
song before LAFH President and CEO, Stephanie Klasky-Gamer, explained to
the children how L.A. Family Housing, their temporary home, had received
a great gift from Greenlight Financial-a beautifully upgraded new library,
freshly painted with new curtains, chairs, pillows and books. To "open"
this gift, children were presented with child's safety scissor and invited
to cut the official ribbon.

fortunate and offering resident families a comfortable place to spend some
quality time together.
