L.A. FAMILY HOUSING
Mission
OUR MISSION
The mission of L.A. Family Housing is to provide a safe, caring,
and service-enriched environment that helps homeless families and
individuals rebuild their lives through an integrated system of
emergency, transitional and permanent affordable housing and homeownership
opportunities, augmented by a wide range of supportive social services.
WHO WE ARE
L.A. Family Housing (LAFH) was founded
in 1983 by a group of concerned citizens and interfaith clergy in
the San Fernando Valley. Since its inception, LAFH has provided
housing and caring supportive services to over 80,000 homeless and
low-income people. The agency has grown from 40 beds in an old motel
to 20 facilities serving over 7,300 people annually in eight different
regions of Los Angeles. Our services are delivered by a diverse
and talented staff of 97 employees and hundreds of dedicated volunteers
throughout the year.
LAFH maintains an extensive and diverse network
of community-based partnerships
with non-profit and private sector organizations, all of whom provide
an invaluable contribution toward the agency's mission and goals.
Since 1987, a vast majority of the families completing LAFH's programs
have maintained permanent housing and stable income.
